With donor centers and mobile blood drives across San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles counties, SDBB provides life-saving blood and biotherapies to hospitals and patients throughout the region.

Founded through the vision of local physicians and supported by leaders like Jonas Salk, SDBB has a long history of innovation, supporting early open-heart surgery, pioneering patient-matching for cancer treatment, and establishing the region’s first bone marrow donor program. Its work now includes cellular and biotherapy services, a reference lab, research partnerships, and SDBB continues to lead in personalized transfusion care through its groundbreaking Precision Blood™ program.

SDBB is committed to saving lives now and into the future, ensuring a safe and reliable blood supply through innovation, community partnerships, and the generosity of volunteer donors.
